History has a unique way of connecting us to our roots, offering a glimpse into the lives and innovations of those who came before us. From ancient civilizations to local communities, the remnants of the past hold stories that are waiting to be uncovered. South Park, with its rich heritage and historical significance, stands as a living testament to this idea. Through engaging events and online initiatives, South Park Site Stewards and South Park National Heritage Area are making history come alive for everyone, creating educational yet exhilarating experiences.

Curiosity often leads us to the wonders of the past, and that's exactly what Community Connections LLC, in collaboration with South Park National Heritage Area and South Park Site Stewards, is enabling with our new online program! But the journey doesn't stop there. We're just getting started!

In July 2022, South Park Site Stewards and South Park National Heritage Area took the excitement from screens to reality with their Archaeology Day event. Hosted on the front lawn of the Courthouse in Fairplay, Colorado, this event was a day filled with adventure! After the resounding success of the inaugural Archaeology Day, South Park Site Stewards is looking forward to hosting Archaeology Day every year! From ancient artifacts on display, experiencing the art of crafting stone tools - called flint knapping! - to throwing an atlatl, and even witnessing an exploding volcano, the event surpasses traditional learning to offer an unforgettable experience for all ages!
